Not everything is as dark as it seems....

Dark looks down at the girl, she shouldn't have opened her mouth.... He's going to take it as an open invitation. These were not men but animals, just like the ones they serve. He watched the lead man grab her wrist quickly, the mans breathing was heavy even from inside his helmet. Without really thinking what he was doing and almost on instinct his hands came up in one fluid movement.

The sound of bones breaking filled the air. Dark's hand and arm had come up under the mans elbow, his free hand locking at the man's wrist keeping it straight. the man let out a blood curtling scream of pain... He knew he overstepped the line this time. Quickly, in one movement he kicked the mans body into the others grabbing Aida's hand as they sprinted toward the next cart's door. He slightly pushed her back as they got to the entrance his whole body becoming rigid as he turned toward the men who were quickly getting up and counter atttack. His eyes locked onto them and then the world seemed to stop.

Their bodies all rose into the air. They cried out, startled at the feeling as his eyes went black. he muttered something inaudible as they all slowly started to bleed from every part of their body. Then almost instantly a force pushed them back. The force was stronger then anything anyone of the men had seen as it sent them and the back half of the cart off the tracks. The train begins to shake as he grabs you by the hand leading you up more into the next cart. Slowly the previous one is forced to detach and goes craching along with its bottom half.

Aida is in shock, she tried to pull from the man and is strtles when Dark does this. She backs off as she is pushed and watches in horror at what he does. She fights the burning sensation once more, just as he had said until he grabs her arm and pulls her with him.

From what she had just seen, she focuses the burning into her hand and lower arm, causing black flames to erupt around it and she pulls her arm free, before backing off from him as far as she could, practically falling backwards in her attempt to get away from him.

All that rushes through her mind is fear, the need to get away from him. She is sobbing, but she doesn't care, she is too terrified to to care about such trivial things

He felt the burning sensation on his hand. It didn't hurt, it didn't even phase him but the way she used it was all too common for him. He stopped dead in his tracks as he looked down. He let out a soft sigh as he turned to the girl," So you are afraid then." He said not all too suprised of the fact, but what he did next suprised him even more.

He smiled at the girl, his pleasant happy-go-lucky smile. He stood where he was," I am gifted with magic, yet cursed." he began as he looked at her his face not changing," As are you.... The coven, more likely to say, those men are evil. They say magic is the spawn of satan and must be extinguished. What you did back there was stupid and i'm sorry you had to see them die in such a way." He walked close enough to extend his hand one more time, the smile faltering slightly," Now, come with me or that burning sensation you've been feeling will start to consume you."

She allows her eyes to narrow. "Stay away from me... you can't jsut kill people like that, evil or not... they are still people! Just like those animals, what the hell did they do to you, and yes," She adds. "I AM afraid. Who wouldn't be upon seeing something like that?! I mean, I come from somewhere that I was made to cook and clean and generally treated like a slave. I finally find the courage to break free and find animals dead everywhere, trees uprooted... and you. You help me, yes, but then strange things start to happen to me. I just don't understand. You seemed so nice.. but then seeing this, you killing people, of course I'm going to be afraid. And as for the burning, whatever it was that spoke to me in my dream, it told me that I would know when I needed it and I found otu that it was right. I can't even begin to understand who they are, let alone anything else. You have been secretive since we first met, and any questions I have had, you either answered with a riddle and thigns I don't understand, or you don't answer at all. What the hell am I supposed to think?! And for that matter, what the hell happened to you last night, how did you end u po nthe ground? Yes, it may seem like I want a lot, but hell, I'm travelling with a stranger in the night, slept in the same palce as him, and know nothing about him. That is probably me being foolish, but I would be. This is the first time I've been out here alone. And those guys, they wouldn't have had me.. I've never even been touched, never even been kissed by a parent, let alone do something in that way. That is between two lovers. I will never have that now..." As she finishes, tears are flowing freely down her heeks and she has pressed herself agaisnt the wall trying to get away from him...

His smiled stayed pleasant as he stared at the gril from where he stood," You want to know what i am dear girl?" He said in a calm voice his hands calmly coming up and brushing his unkempt hair casually as he thought of where to begin," My name is DarkEntity, Known magic user and enemy of the state. I use two magics primarily because those two i am the strongest at."

He looked down at her slight sympathy crossing his features," I'm sorry you witnessed that child nercromancy is such messy buisness. It's said to be the worst of all the magics, but that is just superstitous rumors." He grinned again," The most dangerous magic is my second kind, the magic of healing." He took a seat watching her," You see, i can heal just about anything, and reanimate any body, together these two magics are the most powerful when combined. If you wish for me to lie to you, now will be the chance.... We still have a long way to go so you might as well tell me now, or just get your questions out of the way."

Her answer to this is simple.

"Why bring me with you?"

She looks up to him with tearful, innocent eyes that glitter with the passing surroundings, as though she had never seen anyone that would make this much of an effort for her.. well it was true after all. No one had ever bothered, certainly not her parents or adoptive parents.. no one.. she was alone in the world, but hse always had been ,so why should this make much of a difference?

Aida clutches the bag to her chest now, putting something between them, even though it was a simple bag, she had to put some sort of barrier between them...

He looked at her his smile remaining," Why you ask? Well thats simple really, I am not evil. You need to understand what it is you have and i know somewhere for you to do that. When i drop you off there i'll help keep an eye out on things while i do my mission. After you are better with your skills you can stay traveling with me or go if you wish." He shrugs slightly a little disapointed that he would have to talk so much on the subject.

He got up bringing his hand out toward her again," I'm here to help.... Thats all there is to it, and even if you don't think i am i will help where i can." He nodded to himself," So are you going to stay huddled in fear or shall we sit on this journey in comfort?"

She watches him carefully as he speak and when she does she chooses her words carefully.

"I am grateful for your help." Her voice is a lot calmer. "I really am. But I have to know. When we arrive, you're just going to leave me alone with someone new? How do you know that when this train stops, I won't get off and run? Run as far away from this mess and leave the nonsence about magic behind me, never to darken my doorway again?"

He lets out a laugh," You saw those men who i killed right...." he began his face darkening," Well, they have a sick little imagination when it comes to women, and some of them." He pointed to her then to himself," Use magic to get what they want... You are inexperienced and they would sniff you out a mile away the second you began to run."

He sighed," And i won't be leaving you alone with anyone i'm still going to be there for most of the time. Plus my old friend is very respectful and will train you to the best of his abilities." He kept his hand extended," now hurry up and choose, die slowly or get of the train?"

She looks to him, suddenly fearful again, but not showing it this time. She moves forward, closer to him than she would like, but doing it all the same, her eyes focused upon his.

"They wouldn't find me. I'd keep running, they need not know that I was ever here." It is a childish thing to say, but she cant help the words from stumbling past her lips. "I want to run and hide from all of this. Maybe it will go away if I ignore it and never think of it again. I can only hope for that." Her tone is dark now. "But you wouldn't let me run. Would you?"

His smile remained pleasant as the train stopped. He looked out the window at the guards and special forces that were roaming about the train yard," Go ahead, run. I'm almost positive they are faster then you, but if you get away then kudos." He started heading from the train.

" Go ahead and run, or follow me. I have given my chance to help if you don't want it then i leave you to your fate." He frowned a little.... it seemed harsh for him to say that but he was in a rather foul mood now. Specially since she was so afraid of what he truely was.

Aida bites her lip, thinking quickly. IT couldn't hurt to stay with him. At least for a little while. She picks her bag up onto her shoulder, adjusting the corset slightly and follows him out of the train, fear still flashing in her eyes, though she tries to hide it.

Nervously, she steps onto the platform, glancing at the guards and others, choosing to stick close to Dark, keeping her arm pressed against his, worried of what may happen if she didn't

He walked out onto the platform. He brought his hand up over his eyes to get the glare out of them," Alright, let's get going." Unlike the last train station they had been at, this one was busy. People running around left and right, people yelling out cart numbers or what train was which. He let out a sigh, he hated a big city like this, made them stick out even more.... if that was possible. They were a cluts of a girl, and a man disguised as a coven special forces.

He looked down at her.... So she decided to stay with him, which was wise, specially with the looks the soldiers were giving her. They wouldn't come near him though. Even the soldiers were scared of the special forces and for good reason. They were cruel and efficient, not caring for anything or anyone, whether it be friendly or not. it was all about getting the mission done, and as far as they were considered he was in the middle of one now.

He looked down at Aida with a serious look on his face. He whispered to her," Don't open your mouth until i give the say so.... These men are all rutheless killers, and we are near their base of command." He pointed to a large tower, which was obviously hundres of miles away, but could be seen easily from here. It towered high above everything else. He heard thousands of rumors about that place, some were the most horrible things one could ever imagine and then there were tales of the good they accomplished there. Good in who's eyes, he wondered to himself as they walked into the crowded street outside the station.

Aida looks around in awe as they get off the train. She lets out a low whistle, shocked by how many people there were. There was no where near this many people back in the towm that she came from... well more a village really. How amazing it was to see all these people moving around at once.

The air smelled differently too.. much less clean, as though it was full of the more horrible chemicals in the world.

She smiles, looking up to Dark, then nods as he speaks to her. She remembers what happened last time and doesn't want a repeat of it again. She wishes to remain as pure as the day she was born into this world.

Looking up at where he points, she gasps. How big it was! It had to be the biggest building she had seen in her whole life. She looks to him as he explains and nods, keeping her mouth shut, though she didn't take kindly to being told to be quiet until told otherwise. She shrugs and follows him, her body taking in everything around her as they walked, her sticking close to his arm as to not get lost or taken by one of those guards...

They continued to walk. He made sure to have a good hold on her wrist as they continued forward..... This place was busier then usual. He frowned knowing full well this was the covens doing, but wasn't sure exactly what was going on. It had to be big though, residence were cramming on the any train leaving the area. As they got toward the middle of the city it was far less populated. He had a bad feeling about it but stopped abruptly. His gaze lingered on the house to the side of them for a moment..... So many memories, and people from his past. He let out a smile turning toward Aida

"alright well we're here." He said turning you to see the house for yourself. It was three stories, and was painted the darkest black one could find in paint. The lawn was completely dead, weeds scattered about as if it hadn't been tooken care of in centuries. He gave her a smile before he headed up toward the door his hands behind his back as he started to whistle casually.

She is shocked that the palce would get less busy as they got further in, not like she had expected at all. She looks to him as he speaks to tell her they had arrived. She looks up in amazement, never having seen any house so big in all her life.

Upon entering the garden, she reaches into her bag, pulling out a pair of gloves and sliding them on. She falls to her knees at the edge of it and began pulling the weeds out from the derelict garden as though her life depended on it.

She hated beauty going to waste. She -had- to do something to make it look more alive, more... beautiful. She did it as though ordered to, though it was more subconscious than anything else... force of habit. Aida didn't even notice him walking away from her, she had her heart set on uncovering the beauty of this once amazing garden. She jsut wanted to bring it back to the beauty it once was. To the laughter it was surely grown for....

He stopped looking back at her. He walked back over and swung his arm around Aida's waist and picked her up with relative ease. He began to carry the girl toward the door a smile on his face," Alright missy, if you won't come along peacefully imma have to force you to come." He nodded as he opened the door.

The inside was dark, the lights flickered as he closed the door behind himself..... what a perfect little dump, the thought to himself as he continued to carry her through the hall. A creak was heard here and there, but nothing really occured until they reached the back. A shining metal door, which was completely out of place in this house. It gleamed even without the light hitting on it, and it let off a strange feeling, as if someone was watching you at this very moment... judging you.

She yells out as he picks her up, wanting to get abck to her work. She doesn't give in and squirms about in his grip, trying to break free. Within a moment, she finds this useless and relaxes, tapping on his hip as he walks, just to see what he would do.

Aida carries on this tapping as they reach this door. "I'm taking it that I can speak now?" She asks, watching the door, as if expecting it to do something. She gets an eerie feeling.. of being watched in the darkness. She frowns. "I don't like this place."

He listened to her," well.... Firstly stop tapping my hip, it is rather annoying." He began as he knocked three times," and in a minute you can talk just wait for me to finish this." The door hissed at him in a hostile tone as if it were alive. IT shuddered the whole place starting to wail in unison before it abruptly stopped and the place was quiet once more.

Suddenly a voice echoed from all corners of the house, vibrating toward them," What is the color of night?" It hissed out in its dark tone. He inhaled sharply his eyes turning back to the black they had been when he attacked those soldiers," Senguine, my brother." The vibrating of the house stopped, and then there was a loud pop and the metal door slowly slid open.

A sharp breath slides past her lips as she watches the house. She closes her eyes, her arm snaking its way around his waist, as if for comfort. She holds them closed tightly, trying not to listen, or even breathe in case something were to happen.

Aida jsut lets him do what the hell he wanted with her, be it carry her still or drop her to the ground. She knew either way that she couldn't and wouldn't move even if she wanted to.

She really didn't want to know what was beyond that door, never in her whole life has she wanted something so much as for that door to close again and when she opened her eyes, she would be on the floor of the basement with her tatty blanket wrapped around her, trying to keep warm on the cold stone floor...

He opened the metal door more, it creaked and howled as it finally closed behind them. They were finally in the sanctuary, his one true home. He looked around, it having not changed since he saw it last time. The sound of a waterfall in the distance and a river nearby were the first things heard. Next was the laughter of children and then, the warm sun on their face.

He grinned placing her down," Now you can talk dear, just needed to get us in before you got us into any trouble." He looked about seeing the town he had grown up in. Kids were running about, parents keeping a close eye on them. He started walking again heading for the center of the new town they had just entered... his town.

She stands where he had left her, looking around. She can't believe her eyes: all this on the other side of the door? She bites her bottom lip, slightly on edge at the laughter. She had never understood the concept, having never done so in her memory, only in her dreams.

A tear slides down her cheek as she watches the children with their parents, having never felt that selfsame love. Never felt the bond between mother and child. She backs away slightly, unnerved by this. "Dark, I..." She shakes her head, sinking to her knees, buring her head in her hands. She doesn't want to be here anymore. she wants to turn and run. Run as far as her legs could carry her, not wanting to face the truth. The horrible truth of her life.

It was a farce, all of it, how could she ever have been so stupid as to think that was living? These children didn't know what they had: the love of a parent, the protection of a parents arms entwined around their small bodies. This was a bond that could not be seen, could not be heard... jsut felt, deep within the heart of that child. She would rather have faced a hundred of those guards rather than be here and she contemplates asking him to take her back to the real world... the world she had always known. A world of which she understood and belonged to.

Her heart beats heavily against her ribs, as if wanting to be set free from its confines. Aida raises her head, eyes red and looks around once more. Was it possible to feel this way from just seeing a few chldren and their parents? She finally realises what she had always desired: parents that loved her for who she was.. jsut someone to notice that she wasn't just some troubled teenager that can't see life for what it was. But she understands now. All she wants is a family. One that would care for her as if she were their own. That wasn't possible now. She'd left all chances of that behind the second she has stepped on the train....

He stopped and looked back as she began to speak.... from what he had leraned about her, this didn't really suprise him. He had to be an ass hole at the moment because he had to get something done soon and she needed to be safe. He walked back a smile on his face as he leaned down toward her.

" Okay, no more sobbing, we are here and i need you to not caus a scene." He nodded slightly as he picked her up again," You are starting to feel like a carry on luggage bag." He laughed as they made there way into the small town. People talked idly to one another as they headed toward the center of town, and this time unlike with the city they were in before, it got more crowded as they got closer.

Eyes narrowing, she looks to him. How dare he speak to her like that?! It wasn't as though he felt that.. seemed like he didn't feel anything at all! For a while she seethes in silence, before losing her temper completely, steeping in front of him and slapping him with all her strength.

Her eyes are on fire as she lowers her arm, a hiss escaping her lips. "Don't you dare talk to me like that. Ever! I'm not something that needs to be looked after! I can do that on my own thanks. I'm beginning to think that you only wanted me for soemthing. Don't ask me what, I have no idea. But I'm not taking that from anyone. Ever! I'm not a child, though hell, I wish I damn was. Maybe then you'd have some respect for what I'm feeling! Do you know why that upset me? Really? I got shoved into a house when my parents didn't want me! They treated me as a slave! When I finally broke free of that I find YOU, thinking that you would be good for me, to bring me out of my shell a little, and have you treat me like I'm just an object?! With no feelings whatsoever?! Well guess what! I'm human, I have feelings and you have no idea what seeing that did to me! IT hurt more than anything ever has in my life! And you brought me here to see that! What a wonderful person you are! Thanks a lot! Something I really needed was to be reminded of the one thing that I wanted to forget! I thought my life was going to change! For the better! I never wanted to remember that sorry excuse for a life, but everything that has happened to me so far has done jsut that! Maybe I would have been safer with those guys on the train! At least they would have used me pysically, but they couldn't have reminded me of what happened to me. Yes, maybe they would have used me and then killed me! Anythign has got to be better than thinking about being abandoned by parents that never wanted you!" She brings her arm up to slap him once more, her hand fulled by her anger and it bursts into flames as she brought it up towards his face...

He puts her down, his smile not leaving his face as she went on. She yelled and screamed at him, as if he were the worst possible person to be with. His eyes stared into hers as he waited for her to finish, knowing full well how he was going to respond to this. He felt her hand hit him across the face the first time... It didn't hurt, nothing seemed to really cause him pain. Then the second time he felt his cheeks tingle, they began to itch as he watched her closely. His voice was stern as he began to talk, but kept its gentle tone to it.

" I know what you are saying, and yes you are Human. You are human, like those boys, girl, men and women. You may not have been treated in such a way, but here that will change, and people welcome our kind with open arms. Here, we aren't freaks, we aren't lowly slaves held down by those who opressed us. Here we have a home, and if you want to know the truth about me knowing how you feel about not having a real family......" He stopped his face still pleasant as he began to talk again," Atleast you didn't have to kill yours before they gutted you with a rusty steak knife."

She watches him speak. "But that cannot erase my past! I don't want to remember any of it! Don't you understand that?!" She looks around. "I'm sorry, okay? I don't mean for this to happen... it jsut does, okay?"

Aida frowns and turns from him, walking off down the road, wishing there weren't so many people around so she could just be alone. She realises that she doesn't know where she is and where she's going. She stops for a second, glancing ack at him, before keeping up her pace, scowling a little more than she usually would have done under the circumstances...

He laughed, watching her walk off.... in the right direction too, it was really wierd. He grinned catching up with her then picking her up again," Cmon crazy lady, time for you to come meet what you will come to call your new family." He nodded as they entered a house just on the edge of the city.

He looked around, the house was booming with talk, mainly childrens voices to be honest," Zedd! Where the hell are you ya old koot!" he hollared as an old man pulled himself out of the bathroom. The man glared at Dark for a moment before stomping toward him, before breaking out into a wide grin," Dark! Nice to see you lad." He looks over at Aida... who was still being carried," and who might this be?" He puts Aida down waiting for her to answer Zedd's question.

She jsut relaxes on to him as he picks her up, knowing it would be useless to fight him. She taps his hip again, grinning as they go, watching the streets going past in the process. When they get there she smiles as he puts her down.

As she looks up to the strange, unfamiliar face, she takes a step behind Dark. "I am Aida, Sir. Aida Shan." She tries to smile warmly, but her facial muscles can't form the right shape and her face remains blank

Zedd looked from Dark to Aida for a moment, then burst out into a smile as he began to talk again," Nice to meet you Aida Shan, my name is zedd. Well everyone calls me that anyway." He looked the girl over before Dark smacked his hand against the back of Zedd's head. Dark still had a smile on his face but his tone was serious.

" Don't think about it old man.... Last thing i need if for you hitting on your newest pupil."
