She smiled, "I could coem back your's if you dont mind." She said smiling softly, even if ther was voices in her ears, they seemed to go quiet. Her head felt scrambled and as she stood up she felt unballanced and fll back down tot he floor.

Dark rushed to catch her before she hit the floor, but failed. She hit the floor at his feet.
"Are you okay? Yeah, you can come back mine if you like."
He picked her up and set her on her feet safely. His arm around her waist.
"Come on, if we hurry we can get in before my mum." He said, softly.
He tried to shimmer out, but he couldn't. He wondered why, when he noticed the slash in his stomach.
"I can't do it. Nevermind well wal-" His phone rang again.
"Hello? Oh, hi! Yeah, no problem. Six inch, if you can. It has to be sharp. I don't want it blunt! What? �50?! I can't afford that! No! �20? Okay. �20. No problem. Okay thanks, mate. Bye."
"Sorry, just getting a new knife. Are you okay? Like I was saying: we'll have to walk to mine. I can't shimmer, my stomach isn't healed, so I can't do it."
He looked at her.

Mercades smiled softly as the voices became a soft mutter and seemed to fade awawy and her thoguhts became hr own again, she looked at him smiling "You might now, but I can." She said smirking, "Wo, so this is whats its like to feel all powerful!" She joked, she looked up at him and took his hands as she shimmered out taking Dark with her, she shimmered into what she vaguely remembered to be Darks bedroom. She looked around at it, her icey eyes catching sight of a damage mark to the walls, unknown to her it was where Dark had punched it moments before she had rang him.She loked at the damage, "You should raelly get someone in to fix that." She laughed. She touched the wall next to her and thoguht back and sieved though her emmories of when she felt her fathers prescence here and the giant hole being blasted in the wall, she opened her eyes and pulled out of the horrific memory. she sighed and looked back at Dark 2So your still living wiht your mother then?" She humoured.

"Yeah, bit boring really. I haven't spoke to her in weeks. The wall isn't important. It never has been. Especially when it was blasted into nothingness and now it get's a few" He put a delicate stress on the word few. " punches each day. As you can tell by the state of my knuckles." He sat down.

She smiled gently. taking a seat next to him, "so, Hows everything been... What have you gotten upto besides having umpteen girlfriends," She laughed, she had arranged this so that they could catch up, but so far all that had seemed to happen was taht they both fought or got hurt, she looked across at him awaiting him to fill her in on everything she had missed.

"I've only had six girlfriends since we last saw each other!" He said, indignantly. "I've been offered a house with 847 rooms, but I'd get lonely, so I said I'd get back to him. I've sleeping, reading-something the old Dark would never have done- um........ nothing else really." He said, a bit too quickly. It was as though he was hiding something. "I dunno what else really, bit hard to keep up. I've listened to music, read, been on the computer, been attacked by Demons wanting me to go back to the Dark Side, been to see the house. Boring stuff really. Oh, yeah! And I have-" His mobile rang. "Sorry about this all the time." He said, softly and sincerely.
He answered it.
"Hello? No, he's your son! No I don't wanna see him!" He waited for a while while an angry female voice shouted about responsibilities. "How do you know?" He said, looking terrified. "You've WHAT?! No. No way. I won't. No. He can't be mine. No. I used protection when I was with you." He fell silent as the voice started yelling again. "You WHAT?! Please tell me you are kidding. You're not? You've had a DNA?" What colour he had had in his face left it. He took a deep breath and spoke again. "When did it happen? This morning? I can't I'm busy." The female voice reached such a point that it was able to be heard by anyone around Dark.
"I HAD HIM THIS MORNING, YOU IDIOT! HE IS DEFFINATELY HALF OF YOU! HE LOOKS LIKE YOU! WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND SOMEHTING THAT SIMPLE?!"
"I can. I don't want anything to do with him. He's not mine. He's yours. And yours only! Don't ever ring me again, unless it's something important!" He hung up.
"Sorry about that."
His face was white but it had a greenish tinge.
He was breathing very heavily and his eyes were alive with anger, pain and fear.
He had never felt pain, anger or fear like this before. It felt like he was about to burst with anger; about to shatter with pain; about to die with the fear inside him.
His legs gave way and he fell to the floor, crying.
He couldn't look at Mercades. The pained, angry, or just plain sad face would shatter how much humanity rights were left in him.
"I'm sorry..........."

Mercades sighed heavily. She knew that for as long as she knew this new Dark this was all he was ever going to be...
"So you have a son now..." She said in a tone that matched her frozen cold eyes. She longed for the days when the only person she had to compete with was chris. It was to much for Mercades to take, herself, still a proud virgin. Pure.
"You know what... I think that i should go... leave you to wallow in the mess you have made. I think I miss the days when i had to fight for you to be straight." She joked. "I can't take your problems... I can't take your lust your history or your responsibilities...I thought that i could handle anything for you, we could cope through anything.... I wanted to be with you forver maybe someday we could maybe even i dunno.. get married.. I dunno.. But i guess its all just stupid dreams.... I wanted to.. I want to.. but i can't handle what your going through. It's too much... I'm not strong enough to handle that... But you should be apart of his life be apart of him... he's apart of you... Half of you and half of some girl that you slept with.. but I think I'd be suprised if you could remebre her name... And in your mixed up crazy life.. I'm suprised if you can remember mine..." She walked towards him slowly and kissed his forehead, and looked at him, unable to take her eyes away from his, she wanted to leave, turn away from it and never have to look back at it.. like she knew he couldnt. She felt her heart sink... She feltit breaking and shattering it into the smallest peices to small to find...

"Listen, you don't know what it's like! You don't have a clue! I love you more than anything, Mercades. It's just- I started a different life-without you- because I thought you were never coming back," He looked down at her, tears rolling, silently, down his cheeks. "I didn't do anything wrong with Mel. I was pissed I think... I ALWAYS use protection. She mustn't have remembered the condom or anything... I'm having no part of this baby's life. What he doesn't know won't hurt him. I love you, Mercades. YOU! I think I will take that house. Live away from everyone. Even you. You don't seem to care....." He stopped speaking and wiped his tears away with his sleeve.
"You were the only one I truely loved. And I've ruined that, now. If you want to we can just say 'goodbye' now, before I go and live in my new house. All I ever wanted was to spend the rest of my life with you. Now I've messed it up, properly. You wouldn't understand how sorry I am....." Tears were spilling out thick and fast now. "I can't take all this!" He looked down at his stomach wound. It was healed, almost.
"If you want me, you know where to fiind me."
He shimmered out and appeared in the cemetry. He sat on the nearby stretch of grass, crying and crying and crying.
He shouted into the night.
"I'M SORRY, MERCADES!! ALL I EVER WANTED WAS TO SPEND MY LIFE WITH YOU!! NOW!!!!!! YOU'LL NEVER FORGIVE ME!!!!!!"
He pulled out his sharpest knife.
"This wwould solve everyone's problems..... Mine, Mercades', my mothers, my dealers, EVERYONE'S!!!!!!!!!" He touched the knife to his white wrist and let out a soft gasp of pain. He pulled the knife across the skin, softly. Blood splattered everywhere.
He began to see things in his mind. Memories.
He was asking the pretty girl in the hospital seats if he could sit there. How he lunged himself in front of the lorry to save Mercades. The pain in Mercades' eyes when she found him with Chris. The endless torment of seeing the fear in her icy eyes when he was up against her father. Him triumphing over the Source of all Evil. And the hurt of a few moments ago, where they found out he had a son. The hurt in her eyes. That would scar him forever, if he lived through tonight and tomorrow.
His head hit the ground and all went silent and black.
Dark felt his consiousness slipping back, slightly.
He kept his eyes firmly shut.
Dark thought about his son and said outloud for everyone to hear, his son's name, which he had chosen while he was drunk.
"Kellen."
Silence
"Kellen," He repeated. "Is my son's name."

Mercades sat alone in Dark's bedroom. She looked at the walls the dents, she could feel the anger and pain pumping through the walls like blood through veins. She skimmed her long fingered hand over the wood work of a near by desk, she went back and sat on the bed, realising what must of gone on in the bed she stood up quickly, she looked down on it as if it was the cause of all her pain, her icey eyes seem to have so much hate it traveled all through her body like electricity, righ tto the ends of her fingers where a firey ice apparition appeared and seemed to burn the bed to nothingness.... She looked at her hands with horror. She hdad never been so mad since she had left dark. She ttok a breath...
It wasnt about frogiving dark, it was about being so angry, one that he had just carrie don with things once she had left, and now he had responsibilites that she couldnt handle. She hadnt ever heard somethign that she could never be apart of, she wanted to be apart of everythign in his life, but she couldnt now anymore. He would have a life without her... She could just walk awawy and never have to look back, but Dark had somethign he could never turn away from. He'd always be there... an evil thought went trhrough her head... "I could never..." She reassured herself. I could never do that to such an innocent soul. she sighed. "Dark.... I miss you...." She sighed.. "I just hope you can hear me..." She sighed She watned to go to him, she mad eup her mind thas what she was goign to do, she closed her eyes and tried to sense him so she coudl shimmer to him, she opened her eyes. "dark?" She said oto herself only feeling a faint blip on the scan she shimmered to it. "Dark!" She shouted and she saw his body on the floor tshe ran towards and tripped on a loose tree root, she fell forwards, infront of Dark, she crawled aliong to him , her hands and clothes dirty with the wet mud she gripped the wet mud and puled her body along til she was sitting upright next to him. She looked at him searching for the problem. she saw his wrist " Dark! you idiot..." She said as she looked at him, "Your not going to leave that child fatherless, dont leve that child alone!" She said bery rightously, and not feelings his pulse, possibly because of the adrenilin rushing throug her or the fact her hands were iceily cold. She collapsed onto his chest "Dont... dont leave me alone...." She cried in a sob.

His eyes flicked silently open.
"Mmm?"
His voice was thick and murky.
"Whazzgoinon?" He looked around, the scene swimming in and out of focus. He didn't notice Mercades crying on his chest.
He shouted as loud as he could: "MERCADES!! IF YOU CAN HEAR ME!! I'M REALLY SORRY!! I'M MORE SORRY THAN ANYONE IN THE WORLD!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!! But now you'll never forgive me......" Tears spilled from his eyes.

MErcades looked a him and touched his face, "Dark.... DArk! Im right here..." She said reassuringly. "I know your sorry.. but you dont have to be.. I dont have to forgive you...." She said smiling at him gently. "shhhh..." I have to get you some where..." She said woriedly, she looked around all she could see was the darkness all around, she looked at her hands covered in blood and mud, but her hands were still ice cold, as cold as her heart felt.

"No Dark... please stay awake... PLEASE...." She cried.. "Please? Please dont die Dark please... I'm sorry i yelled im sorry for anything i said.. but dont leave me here.... without you.."
She looked at the phone with fustration. She picked the phone with her cold hands and answered it "WHAT!! Dont you people know how to just piss off and not call!" She yelled.

Her temper took over her hand became a ball of icey blue fire and the phonemelted away, she loked back at Dark her head bleeding for him.. Sh took his hand and shimmered back to her house. Into one of the bedroom and onto the bed, the room was white and the sun beamed in through the white curtains and the room looked cleanand soft, she cried as she looked at his face, "Dark... Dark please say something... please..."

He was dreaming of her father. He was first Chris, the transformed into Mercades, then his mother, then himself and then to the Source's body. He can towards him, closer, closer, closer.
"Stay away! I've already killed you!"
"The Source.... coming....ever....closer....can't.....run.....will.....have......
to......fight....in.....the.......end....who......will......triumph?.....
me.....and......Mercades.......we'll.........defeat......his.........soul!"
His eyes shot open and he sat bolt upright and shouted: "The Source is coming ever closer, we will have to fight him! We will have to beat him!"

Mercades crumbled at teh words. "Shhh... Your just dreaming... shhh..." She said hopefully she touched his shoulders and tried to push hiim down onto the bed so that he was lying restfully.. B this time she had bandaged his arm and used a small amount of magic to just lightly close the wound she didnthave enough energy to heal it all the way, she smiled at him and pulled the covers over him, she doutbed that he was actually dreaming, it was more likely tha he was prophecising. but she didnt have enough enegy or pateince to deal with it just now, she sighed a sshe felt what energy she have leave as she fell backwards onto the white carpet and lay there her eyes still slightly open, obviously it had taken more enrgy to lightly lace the wound together than tshe ha dthoguth.
